Shipping & insurance
Paintings are fragile, valuable and expensive to move. Nothing here is estimated at checkout that ought to be quoted properly.
Originals are quoted, not cart-priced
Freight for an original work depends on its dimensions, the crate it needs and the destination. We quote it after purchase, once we know where the work is going. The price shown on the product page does not include shipping.
If the quote is unacceptable to you, the sale can be cancelled and refunded in full. You are never committed to a freight cost you have not seen.
Editions ship at a flat rate
Signed editions are rolled in an archival tube or flat-packed, and dispatched within five working days. Delivery is typically 5–10 working days within the EU/EEA and 10–20 elsewhere.
Insurance
Every shipment is insured at its declared sale value. This matters more than it sounds: a carrier’s default liability is roughly €100 regardless of what is inside the crate, which is not cover for a painting. We arrange insurance per shipment rather than relying on carrier terms.
Risk passes to you on delivery, not on dispatch. If a work arrives damaged, tell us within 48 hours and keep all packaging — the claim depends on it.
Condition on dispatch
Every original leaves with high-resolution condition photographs and a signed condition report. These establish the state of the work at the moment it left us, and are the reference point for any damage claim.
Customs and import charges
Works are sold DAP (Delivered At Place), not DDP. Import duties, VAT and customs handling charges in the destination country are the buyer’s responsibility and are payable to the carrier or customs authority on arrival. Works of art frequently attract a reduced import rate — check the position in your own country before ordering.
For destinations outside the EU we supply the export documentation required to zero-rate the sale. We cannot undervalue a work on a customs declaration.
Collection in person
Originals may be collected by arrangement, which removes freight and transit risk entirely. Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] before purchase if you would prefer this.
